Alumnus

Nico grew up in Reynoldsburg, OH and moved to Morgantown, WV in 2017 to initially pursue a degree in Biochemistry or Forensic Sciences but ultimately switched to a Sports Psychology degree. He graduated in the spring of 2021 with a B.S. in Sports Psychology and a minor in Religious Studies. Nico was part of the Gamma class and held the position of Brother at Large.

“BPO allowed me to interact with people who enjoyed biology and other sciences. Because I started at WVU as a biochemistry major, I took several biology courses and labs before switching to Sports Psychology. Unfortunately, because biology courses past 102 were not a requirement for the sports psych program, I did not have much interaction with others who enjoyed science as much as I did. BPO allowed me to find like-minded people, and they made me feel welcome despite how different my degree path was from theirs. BPO also allowed me to find volunteer opportunities related to the biological sciences that I would not have come across otherwise. My favorite memory from my time at BPO would probably be when we all went to a pumpkin patch in Pennsylvania as a group bonding activity.”
